Project Initiation March 2nd

Manchester Uni

Meet most of the potential partners at the Project Initiation meeting. All we need to do in this is set the early dates and farm out organisational responsibilities. Antonio from MOSI seems keen, Shiraz from MIMAS has great ideas for engaging with the users and working out how we can design great user experiences. Both seem enthused by the project potentials. Walt and Pat from LSEN come along have lots of ideas. Walt has an Adult Learning and Big Society Conference on March 3rd and will look for links.

Deadlines; We decide on April 11th for the Project Launch, Antonio offers MOSI itself, which would be great, and promises to check and confirm if we can. We have a deadline of March 31st for the detailed project plan for JISC and we decide to meet during the week commencing March 21st so we get this done in good time. Overall a good sense of purpose emerging and I determine to launch this blog and put my slides up on slideshare for my public talk on Ambient Learning Manchester before we meet Antonio at MOSI on Thursday March 3rd at 9.30am.

Went along to the OpenManchester talk over lunch, where the recent occupations were discussed. Looks like it is not unlike the Really Free School in London, where I gave a talk recently, but the Manchester Ragged University project currently looks really thought out, and much closer to the Really Free School.  I hope they both get involved in MOSI-ALONG (Open Network Group guys…)
